BEAUTY is considered as a controversial concept because the criteria that define it are relative to individuals, cultures, periods and contexts.
Over the years, many have tried to define some universal standards to recognize beauty in arts but even those standards kept changing. This is a secondary research, which will try to identify and explain today’s decisive factors to distinguish beauty in arts. For this intent, we will read reviews of paintings and other forms of arts, and conduct some interviews with some people in the world of art as well as some outsiders.
Parfait - this sounds interesting but it's too general. State clearly the texts that you will read, the questions that you will ask, the people you will approach. If you want help from the class to find reference say what about beauty you would like to read about.

Hi, I am interested in your topic. I think that those changes in the "universal standards" to recognize beauty show that people have a wrong concept about what is beautiful. In my opinion, beauty is surrounding us all the time, but we do not know how to appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
Thank, for the comments. I have been looking around and people have been able to agree on some criteria that are usually reflected in beauty. Working on putting ideas on paper now.
